Endo Girls
the ongoing saga of bloody pain
Sleepless Nights
15th-Jun-2013 11:04 am

So, I have stage 4 Endo and no insurance, just minor assistance through our local hospital. I am on Depo provera to help with pain and growth, 800mg Ibuprofen 2-3x a day and Tramadol 50mg 2x a day for pain. Lately as my shot has been wearing off I get a terrible pain in my left ovary that cripples me and bugs me all night so I can't sleep. I have been told by my doctor it's okay to double my meds if the pain is awful. I've tried doing so and it's not helping. Is there any positions, vitamins, remedies or anything really that you may have tired that help? I've gotten about 5 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours due to awful pain. My next shot is on tuesday and it takes about 2 days to get in my system, but I desperately want sleep before then.

Thank you so much in advance for any advice or help! I am ever so greatful.

any chance you can just get your shot early? A few days early is totally kosher. I know it's the weekend now but if you can swing doing it monday, at least that's a little sooner. And you can keep this in mind for next time, if you're having trouble.

You could try using Thermacare wraps. They advise against sleeping in them, but if you put a thin cloth or something in between it and your skin and make sure to sleep on your back so you're not laying on top of it, that will help protect against burns, which is the concern of sleeping in it.

I will try that thank you! I called my doctor yesterday and she said she can't move my shot up, but she has now changed the times I get them from every 2.5 months to 2 months. SO hopefully that will help!

Luckily I'm out for Summer, (i'm in college) So I can sleep a bit more and off than I usually do. I will definitely try that, someone just suggested a chillow thingy for the summer too, she has stage 1 and she said it has helped her so much. Thank you once again for your advice! I hope you feel better and get some good sleep as well.
